Public Statement in regards to yesterday incident

To Our Valued Customers,

On Tuesday, February 28, 2018 at approximately 1:20 p.m., the South Metro Career Center was alerted of a suspicious person with a potential weapon in the parking lot near the 24 Hour Fitness building. Several vehicles in the area were also damaged by the suspect.

The South Metro Career Center immediately went into lock-down mode and customers and employees were sheltered in place. At around 1:40 p.m., the suspicious person was apprehended by law enforcement by the 99 Cent Store across from the South Metro Career Center. No persons were harmed.

This incident is under investigation. If your car was damaged during the incident, please contact our Program Manager for the case number report to provide to the San Diego Police Department.

The South Metro Career Center has resumed all activities. The safety and security of our customers and employees remains our top priority.
